Doris A. Pronschinske

Doris Ann Pronschinske, 95, formerly of Waumandee and Arcadia, passed away February 23, 2026, at Sauer Health Care, Winona, MN.

Doris was born December 7, 1930, at home in Bohri’s Valley, Buffalo County, to Emil and Edith (Katzbahn) Schwertel. On September 12, 1950, she was united in marriage to Alois Pronschinske at OLPH Catholic Church in Arcadia.

Doris was a gardener, providing for her family; a seamstress, sewing her own wedding dress, her bridesmaid’s dresses, and countless clothes for her children; an avid bowler achieving a perfect 300 game; a quilter, sharing her skills with friends, teaching students at WTC, and winning a red and blue ribbon at the Wisconsin State Fair; a school bus driver for 40 years, both owning her own bus and driving for the Arcadia School District. Above all, family and faith were of utmost importance. Proverbs 31:10-31 perfectly describes her Christian walk through life being selfless and generous with her gifts.

She is survived by her children: Michael (Sue), Ronald (Kim), James, Lori Wozney, Marcel (Karla), Bruce (Pam Arneson), Irene (Ken Kalama), Gail (Lisa Luedtke), Janice (Kurt) Haines; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren with another on the way; sister, Ruth Pronschinske; sister-in-law, Ramona Schwertel; brother-in-law, George Narvaes; also numerous nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alois; son, Andrew; brother, Gerald; daughter-in-law, Diana; brothers and sisters-in-law: Roman Pronschinske, Richard & Anna Pronschinske, Antoinette & Robert Bork, Sylvan & Marion Pronschinske, Victor & Rose Pronschinske, Urban & Esther Pronschinske, Cleo & Raymond Wojchik, Anthony & Clarice Pronschinske and Carol Narvaes.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Waumandee, with burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Doris’s grandchildren. Memorials are preferred to St. Boniface Catholic School.
