Arcadia earns WIAA Award of Excellence

Arcadia is among the short list of schools being honored by the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association for their commitment to sportsmanship and leadership during the previous academic year.

The Raiders were among the 28 recipients of the WIAA’s Award of Excellence for the 2025-26 school year announced last week.

That award features a wide array of criteria that “promotes and recognizes the efforts and achievements of schools in the areas of sportsmanship, ethics, integrity, leadership, character and administrative accomplishment.”

Arcadia is one of eight schools receiving the Award of Excellence for the first time, along with Cuba City, Ellsworth, Loyal, Mauston, McFarland, Mishicot and Sun Prairie East.

Germantown and Watertown each received the award for the seventh time in its 10-year existence. Hilbert and The Prairie School earned the award for a sixth time.

Other multi-time winners included on this year’s list of honorees are Adams-Friendship, Ashland, Barron, Elkhorn, Janesville Parker, Lake Holcombe, Lakeside Lutheran, Little Chute, Marshfield, Northwestern, Owen-Withee, Portage, St. Croix Falls, Stratford, Unity and Wauzeka-Steuben.

The WIAA press release announcing this year’s recipients noted that the 28 schools will be recognized on the WIAA website and social media, as well as in 2026-27 state tournament programs and at the organization’s 2027 annual meeting.
