B-T netters blow by Coulee Christian

The Blair-Taylor volleyball team won two of three sets by at least 10 points as it easily dispatched Coulee Christian last Tuesday.

In the team’s home opener, the Wildcats quickly established control, winning the first set by 10 points. It won the next two by a combined 23 points to end the match with a sweep.

The win put B-T’s record at 6-0 on the season as the team has yet to lose a single set. The Wildcats went to Mondovi for a match on Tuesday of this week and will face its biggest test of the season so far at Cochrane-Fountain City on Thursday. The Wildcats return home to face Augusta this coming Tuesday.

The Wildcats dominated at the service line and Coulee Christian had no answer for senior Chloe Medenblik at the net.

B-T served up 15 aces in the match, led by Alyssa Tubbs’ six. Charlyse Horton added three, both Emma Wathke and Madelyn Elvaker had two, and Veta Curran and Avery Peterson had one. 

The team also received a strong performance from Medenblik, who had 16 kills and three blocks. Kelcie Kindschy and Horton both had four kills. Wathke handled most of the setting duties as she finished with 19 assists.

Tubbs and Medenblik both had four digs to lead the team, while Peterson and Wathke had three.
