A rocky start to conference play continued for the Arcadia volleyball team, who are still seeking their first win of a set against Coulee competition through four matches.

The Raiders (5-10, 0-4 Coulee) endured two more losses in straight set fashion this past week, starting with a match in Viroqua last Tuesday.

The Blackhawks swept away Arcadia 25-14, 25-15, 25-17. The Raiders were led in the defeat by senior Tatum Drazkowski with three kills and 14 digs, freshman Sophia Jereczek with nine digs and eight assists and senior Layna Wozney with six digs and three total blocks.

Despite some tighter sets, they faced a similar fate against Black River Falls on Thursday at the Wanek Center, where the Tigers won in straight sets 25-21, 25-16, 25-20. In that match, Drazkowski finished with eight kills and 13 digs, Wozney had seven kills and 15 digs, Jereczek recorded 11 digs and two aces, and freshman Lexus White fired in a pair of aces.

The Raiders took part in a tournament in Sparta on Saturday, posting a 2-3 overall record on the day.

Arcadia started off its morning with losses to both Sparta (14-25, 10-25) and Mauston (25-23, 24-26, 7-15) before evening up their record with three-set wins against Cashton (14-25, 25-13, 15-9) and Colby (19-25, 25-21, 17-15). Brookwood swept the Raiders 25-22, 25-19 to finish up the day for the latter.

As part of a double dual in Black River Falls next Tuesday, the Raiders are set to play the host Tigers at 5 p.m. and Westby in the second round of matches at 7 p.m.
