Arcadia swept by Luther in CC volleyball

Despite solid improvement in each successive set, Arcadia was unable to avoid a sweep at hands of Onalaska Luther in their lone match last week.

The Knights (9-5, 4-1 Coulee) came into the Wanek Center last Tuesday and handed the host Raiders (5-11, 0-5) a straight-set defeat 25-9, 25-14, 25-23, leaving Arcadia still on the hunt for their first conference win of 2026.

After Luther won the opening two sets in comfortable fashion, the third set proved much more competitive. The Knights created a tiny bit of separation to lead 15-11 before the Raiders answered with a 6-1 run, jumping ahead 17-16 after a Luther return went long.

The match was tied as late as 21-21 before the Knights went ahead again and brought about a match point at 24-22. Arcadia was briefly kept alive thanks to a service error, but Luther’s Mallory Unke fired in a match-sealing kill on the ensuing point to wrap things up.

The Raiders were led in the defeat by senior Tatum Drazkowski with nine kills and nine digs, senior Layna Wozney with four kills and two aces, freshman Sophia Jereczek with four kills and 13 assists and freshman Elsie Wozney with 10 assists.

Arcadia wraps up the September portion of their schedule when they host the West Salem Panthers next Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Wanek Center.
