Betty J. (Hendricks) Hunter

Betty Jean (Hendricks) Hunter, 84, of Galesville, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Whitehall Care Center.

Betty was born in Boscobel, July 23, 1940, to James and Hazel (Gilberg) Hendricks. Betty married the love of her life, Duane Hunter, and they celebrated 64 years of marriage. Betty was known for bringing joy to others. You would often find her painting ladies’ nails at Marinuka Manor Nursing Home or writing a caring thought or birthday wish in cards to church friends.

Betty held many jobs in her life that brought her lasting friendships, one of which was Day Care, consisting of over 40 children through the years. She was active in several clubs which involved the Lioness and Garden Club.

Betty enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, dancing and camping with her family which included traveling with Duane in their fifth wheel travel trailer to most states in the union and including two trips to Alaska. She was a “BIG” Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers Fan.

Betty is survived by her loving husband, Duane; six children: Roxanne (Perry) Merkes, Pamela (Brian) Paulus, Donna (Kevin) Evenson, Christine Hunter, Mark (DeeAnn) Hunter and Wanda (George) Nephew; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Duane and the family would like to thank all the friends and family that reached out with kind words and condolences. Betty will be greatly missed by many.

Per Betty’s wish a private family service will be held. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.dickinsonfuneralhomes.com.
