Betty J. Schock

Betty Jane Schock, 80, of Arcadia, died Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.

Betty was born March 4, 1945, to Ernest and Pelchie (Sobotta) Severinski. On November 12, 1966, she married Dennis “Doc” Schock, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Independence. Dennis and Betty were married for 50 years and raised two daughters together.

Betty worked at Ashley Furniture for 36 years. She loved crossword puzzles, gardening, sunflowers, and anything red, white, and blue. Betty also enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers, but one of her greatest joys was playing Yahtzee with Dennis in the evenings. 

Betty is survived by her daughters: Lisa (Jon) Nelson of Arcadia, and Laura (best friend, Diane Billerbeck) Schock of Augusta; grandchildren: Tyler (Amanda) Beck, Brandon Beck, Bethany (Brandon Weeth) Ali, Corrina (Chris McNamara) Ali, Larissa (Cody Schwoch) Schock; extra granddaughter, Mayklin Petersen; great-grandchildren: Damon, Sarah, Arthur, and Amelia Beck and Benjamin McNamara; siblings: Shirley (Wayne) Scow and Ron Severinski; sisters-in-law: Joan Schock and Jean (Marc) Rothering; ex sons-in-law: Troy Beck and Robert Ali; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis; siblings: Don Severinski and Mary Strumness; mother and father-in-law, Dominic and Irene Schock; brother-in-law, Dave Schock; nephew, Matt Severinski; and niece, Donna Schock.
