Bonita “Bonnie” L. Staff

Bonita “Bonnie” Louise Staff, 73, of rural Whitehall, died Saturday, August 10, 2024, at home, with her loving family by her side, under the care of Interim Hospice.
Bonnie was born February 3, 1951, at Whitehall Hospital, the daughter of Dominic C. and Angeline M. (Kupka) Sosalla. On December 30, 1972, Bonnie married Creighton G. Staff at St. John’s Catholic Church in Whitehall.
Bonnie battled Multiple System Atrophy (cerebellum) with courage and devotion to family. She was blessed throughout this disease with the unfailing support of her husband, her daughter, Amanda, and sisters, Nancy and Sherry. Bonnie cherished the visits from Sherry with her sisterly prodding to exercise, memories of old, homemade chocolate chip and refrigerator cookies with fresh coffee and refreshing baths that ended with a curler in her bangs. Sherry was a Godsend.
Bonnie enjoyed gardening, cooking and volunteering at the Trempealeau County Humane Society. She had a special place in her heart for dogs and cats.
Bonnie is survived by her husband of 51 years, Creighton; three children: Eric (Sarah) Staff, Adam (Anneliese) Staff and Amanda (JR Knutson) Staff; eight grandchildren: Austin Staff, Madison (Nathan) Byrns, Abigail (Friend, Blake Dunaway) Staff, Abbigail Jacobson, Cooper Jacobson, Garrett Staff, James Vaini and Deke Knutson. She is further survived by two sisters: Nancy (Jerry) Stellflue and Sherry Frei; sister-in-law, Josephine Sosalla; brothers-in-law: Philip (Lillian) Staff, Randy (Kathy) Staff and Alton Staff; sisters-in-law: Barbara Staff and Janet Staff; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis (Danny) Sosalla; brother-in-law, David Frei; siblings-in-law: James and his wife, Delores Staff; Sharon and her husband, Donnie Sampson; Terry Staff, Fred Staff and Johnny Staff.
Bonnie’s family thanks the staff of Interim Hospice, especially Deanna, Megan, Liz, Brenda, Kim and Jaclyn, for their love, kindness and compassionate care.
Bonnie’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
Per Bonnie’s wishes, there will be no memorial service. Memorials may be sent to the Trempealeau County Humane Society, N27109 U.S. Highway 53, Blair, WI 54616.
