Bonita “Bonnie” Lyga

Bonita “Bonnie” Lyga, 63, of Whitehall, died Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.

Bonnie was born August 25, 1957, to Lawrence and Clara (Marsolek) Sonsalla.

Bonnie worked as a certified nursing assistant and personal care worker. She worked at Tri-County Nursing Home, Lewiston Nursing Home, TCHC-Farnam House and did home care for Emogene Senty.

Survivors include a brother, Adrian (Stella) Sonsalla of Arcadia; two sisters: Marian Patzner of Eleva and Shirley (Richard) Galster of Little Chute, Wis.; nieces and nephews: Shari Bauer, Debbie Gumbert, Stephanie Kujak, Travis Sonsalla, Lynnette Bolte, Tina Olson, Jeff Olson, Shane Brady; and a special niece, Melissa (Norm Pokorny) Laehn, Godmother of Katherine and Kristina Laehn; and special friends, John Julson & Diane Hetzel.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Patricia and Angeline Sonsalla and Dorothy Nelson; two brothers: George, and Richard Sonsalla.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Edison Funeral Home in Independence, followed by graveside services at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery.
