Brenda K. Hansche

 

Brenda Kay Hansche, 61, of Whitehall, died Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Gundersen Tri-County Hospital in Whitehall.

Brenda was born September 24, 1960, in Quincy, IL, to Alfred and Irene (Helwig) Willy. She married Steve Hansche, April 12, 1980, in Kenosha. They spent 41 years together and were blessed with five children. Brenda and Steve lived several places throughout Wisconsin before settling in Whitehall in 1999, where they lived for over 20 years. They owned and managed several restaurants during the years including Pizza Man in Blair and Whitehall.

Brenda loved children and always wanted a large family. Early in their marriage, Brenda started an in-home daycare business that she continued for many years. Later, she volunteered at the Berean Baptist Church School in Galesville for six years and taught art there. Brenda enjoyed art and often painted scenic oil paintings. She also played piano and especially enjoyed playing hymns and the music of Keith Green. She was president of the Helwig family reunion for over a decade.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Steve; her brother, Arnold (Nancy); her children: David, Aaron (Deanna), Jason (Marcy), Stephanie (Andrew) and Elizabeth; her grandchildren: Hannah, Kaileo, Caden, Cecilia, Ivory and Declan; as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her uncles: Russell Helwig and Walter Helwig; her aunt, Edna Eliason; and her cousins: Tom Miland and Lawrence Miland.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church with burial in Lincoln Cemetery, both in Whitehall. Pastor Rob Buhl will officiate.

Visitation was Tuesday, November 16, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall is assisting the family with arrangements.
