Carmen G. Walker

 

Carmen G. Walker, 81, of Reedsburg, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Wisconsin Dells Health Services.

She was born March 27, 1941, in Whitehall, the daughter of Ernest and Doris (Halverson) Steen. Carmen enjoyed reading, craft painting, making jewelry and was a very creative person. Carmen also enjoyed swimming and teaching all of us to swim, float and be comfortable in the water. Her exploits with her Tranhaus Bowling Team Ladies are still the topic of conversation.

On September 27, 2001, she was united in marriage to Harold Walker. 

She is survived by her husband, Harold of Reedsburg; children: Kevin (Dennis Giese) Skroch of Prairie du Sac, and Raquel Skroch of Mondovi; grandchildren: Daniel Mitsogen, David Anderson, Victoria Anderson, and Jessica Anderson; sister, Jeri Brown; first husband, Emil (Judy) Skroch; and many nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Lauree Hawkinson of Tucson.

Carmen had a memorable personality, touching many lives with her wit and smile. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Wisconsin Dells Health Service. We appreciate their attention and care of Carmen during her stay.

Private family services for Carmen and burial will be made at Southridge Cemetery in Ontario, WI, at a later date.
