Carol R. Pecha

Carol R. Pecha (Nordby), 75, of Eau Claire, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Carol was born December 21, 1947, to William and Mary (Stremcha) Brady in La Crosse. She married Owen Nordby, and raised four children in Whitehall and worked at Whitehall Specialties as a lab technician. In 2011, Owen passed away. On June 3, 2016, Carol married Billy Pecha, of Eau Claire, where she and Billy owned a hobby farm. Carol enjoyed taking care of animals, cooking, and helping others. They both loved to work in their large garden and volunteer at the Eau Claire food pantry. She had a very caring relationship with the Amish community of Augusta.

Carol is survived by her three children: Brian Nordby of Chippewa Falls, Shelley (Don) Button and Aaron (Stacy) Nordby, both of Eau Claire; three grandchildren: Amanda Button, Nate (Bailee Ross) Nordby and Kolton Nordby, all of Eau Claire; seven brothers: Michael (Sherry), Douglas (Nancylee), Richard (Lorraine), Paul (Sandra), Joseph (Marilyn), David (Beverly) and Robert (Toni) Brady; one sister, Eunice Bielefefelt; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husbands, Owen Nordby and Bill Pecha; a daughter, Rachel Nordby; four brothers: William, James, Steve and Pat Brady; two sisters: Jeanie Kaufman and Barbara Brady; and she will join many other family and friends.

Memorial services will be held Monday, July 24, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at Jack Funeral Home, with burial in the Old Whitehall Cemetery, both in Whitehall. Scott Brown will officiate.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
