David E. Hansen
David Edwin Hansen, 65, of rural Pigeon Falls, died Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at his home.
David was born January 14, 1959, in Houston, TX, to Hans Edwin Hansen Jr. and Ellen Louise (McCauliff) Hansen. David grew up in Houston, TX, and graduated from Milby High School, then attended San Jacinto college. He received a technical degree in machining and worked at his father’s machine shop. David continued machining and worked at a few different machine shops, mostly running large lathes, before working maintenance at a chemical plant.
After the birth of his son, David moved to Wisconsin to be with him. He worked at Whitehall Specialties while pursuing an Associate Nursing Degree from Western Technical College. After completing, he worked at the Trempealeau County Health Care Center as a Registered Nurse for many years. During this time, he also completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Viterbo College in La Crosse.
In later years, David spent his time buying and selling various items, working on projects and managing his rental properties. David was always passionate about motorcycles of all kinds. He was also passionate about the outdoors and many hunting and fishing memories were made with many friends and family.
David really enjoyed collecting various items and could never pass up a good deal. David dedicated much of his time attending various churches in the area, both on Sunday and multiple bible studies throughout the week. David was also a devout member of Gideons International for many years and has been a guest preacher at churches all over the Tri-County area.
David is survived by his son, Stephen Ray Hansen; two sisters: Ellen Louise Hansen and Hansita Hansen; and a brother, Peter Keith Hansen.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at New Hope Community Lutheran Church in rural Northfield, followed by a lunch. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
