David A. Haug

David Alan Haug, 64, of rural Whitehall, died Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Gundersen Tri-County Hospital in Whitehall.

David was born November 26, 1957, in Whitehall, to Leroy and Lois (Peterson) Haug. Growing up, he attended Whitehall Schools. David married Barbara Mish, November 6, 1976. They shared lots of laughs and tears over the many years they were together while raising their three daughters. David’s hands told a story. They showed a lifetime of working alongside his dad, Leroy, at Haug Repair. He was always busy working on something.

David loved his girls, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had a giant heart and was always there to lend a hand or his opinions. David enjoyed old cars, tractors, fishing, tossing pennies and especially time spent socializing with all of his family and friends. He was a big personality that left an imprint on anyone he ever met.

David is survived by his three daughters: Melissa (Ben) Hanson, Courtney (Kurt) Haug Erdman and Gabriella Haug (Justin); grandchildren: Shiloh (Mikala), Emilee (Aaron), Raven and Berkley Erdman, LilyAna Hanson and William Gilbertson; great-grandchildren: Ella and Nova Erdman and baby M. Crebo; the mother of his children, Barbara Haug; his father, Leroy Haug; a brother, Paul (Holly) Haug; a sister, Sondra (Dale) Lyngen Jr.; aunts and uncles: John (Shelbie) Haug, Carolyn Hagen and Gerald (Vickie) Peterson; and numerous others that he loved and cared for so much including his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins and friends.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Haug; a sister, Sarah Sosalla; aunts: Janice Peterson and Beverly Dahlby; grandparents: Leif and Agnes Peterson and Palmer and Selma Haug; mother-in-law, Monica Mish; nephews: Justin Sosalla and Christopher Mish; a cousin, Keith Everson; and several beloved brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 27, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall.
