David A. Johnson

 

David Allen Johnson, 80, of Taylor, died Friday, December 3, 2021, at Black River Memorial Hospital in Black River Falls.

David was born September 9, 1941, in Black River Falls, to Silas and Myrtle (Hoem) Johnson and graduated from the Black River Falls High School in 1960. David married Charlotte Bue, September 16, 1961, at Upper Beaver Creek Lutheran Church in rural Taylor.

David worked for the Jackson County Highway Department before leaving for Fort Lewis, WA, for the National Guard during the Berlin Crisis. David loved to go hunting and fishing with his sons. His other passion was flying his planes.

David owned several businesses throughout his life and also drove school buses, tankers and dump trucks.

David is survived by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte; three sons: Duane (Kelly) Allen and Roger; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law; also nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a son, Gerald; a brother, Duane; three sisters: Joyce Jeffery, Lorraine Leffingwell and Marlys Schultz; in-laws: Inez and Roy Bue; and a nephew, Donald (Joey) Peterson.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., at Taylor Lutheran Church in Taylor with Pastor Natalie Leske officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in rural Taylor.

Visitation will be Friday, December 10, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Jack Funeral Home in Blair and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
