David Morris

David “Mouse” Morris, 80, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 24, 2026. David lived a life marked by courage, dedication and a deep love for gardening and those closest to him.

David was born July 28, 1946, to David and Lena Morris of Bangor. He proudly served his country as a Hospital Corpsman attached to the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. In recognition of his extraordinary bravery and sacrifice, David was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart. His service reflected the selflessness and strength that would define his life.

Following his military service, David dedicated many years to his community as a lineman for the City of Whitehall, where he was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to lend a helping hand.

Away from work, David found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed gardening, landscaping, woodworking and spending time outside listening to music. Whether tending his garden, yard, flowers, working on a project in the shop, or simply enjoying nature, David took pride in creating and caring for the things around him. One of his favorite traditions was traveling with his beloved wife, Janet, on summer trips to South Dakota. Those adventures out West were a special source of happiness and created memories he treasured throughout his life.

Above all else, David cherished time spent with his family. He loved being with his daughter, Megan, son-in-law, Sam and grandchildren, Mason and Mia, as well as all of their pets. His quiet presence, wisdom, humor and steadfast love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

David is survived by his daughter, Megan (Sam); his grandson, Mason; and his granddaughter, Mia; who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Lena Morris; his brothers, Mark and Jim Morris; and his beloved wife, Janet Roth-Morris.

David’s life was one of service, resilience and love. His legacy lives on in the family he treasured, the community he served and the countless lives he touched along the way.

Megan and her family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Courtney, his hospice nurse, for her compassionate care, kindness, and support during David’s final journey. A special thank you is also extended to the entire staff at Meadowbrook in Bloomer for the exceptional care, dignity, and friendship they provided. Your dedication and compassion brought comfort not only to David, but to his family as well, and will never be forgotten.

A visitation will be held Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at Fredrickson Funeral Home, Hwy. 162 and Hattan St., Bangor, including the rendering of military honors by the Anderson-Good American Legion Post 40 of Bangor and the U.S. Marine Corps Funeral Honor Guard.
