David R. Pientok

David Richard Pientok, 84, of Chippewa Falls, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Mayo Health System in Osseo, following prolonged medical issues.

David was born October 25, 1940, in Independence, to John and Dorothy (Kampa) Pientok. David attended Independence Schools and graduated with the Class of 1958. On May 13, 1961, David was united in marriage to Rosemary Smick. To this union, two children, Douglas and Natalie, were born.

David and his family resided in Kenosha while he was employed at American Motors/Chrysler. After 30 years in Kenosha, David and Rosemary moved back to the area where they were born and raised. David enjoyed outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing and vegetable gardening. Many cucumbers were grown and pickled through his years! He had a love for cars and owned many throughout his life. David enjoyed watching sports, playing cards with buddies, visiting casinos, watching hummingbirds at his feeders, and simply enjoyed being with family and friends. His family extended well beyond his immediate family. Having a beer, sharing stories, reminiscing, and having a good laugh were among his favorite things to do! He was affectionately called Mr. P and Grandpa P by those who knew and loved him. David was beloved by many and will be missed by all those blessed to have known him.

David will be sadly missed by his wife of 64 years, Rosemary; son, Douglas Pientok of Sun City West, AZ; daughter, Natalie (John) May of Greeneville, TN; two granddaughters: Abigail May of Charleston, SC, and Amanda May (fiancé AJ Andolino) of Milwaukee, WI; great-granddaughter, Magnolia May Fisher; brother, John (Grace) Pientok of Altoona, WI; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy Pientok.

A Celebration of Life and service will be held Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m., at Talbot Family Funeral Home in Mondovi. Burial will be Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Independence.
