David W. “Apple” Appleyard

David Wayne “Apple” Appleyard, 72 of Palisade, MN, died Peacefully at his home, Monday, March 3, 2025, after a brief illness.

David was born February 27, 1953, in Madison, the son of David F. and Joey (Hierlmeier) Appleyard. He moved to Northfield, MN, and graduated from Northfield High School in 1971. David attended the University of Minnesota and the University of North Dakota. He moved to Trempealeau County, WI, in 1975, and began his career as Land Conservation Administrator. David was united in marriage to Brenda (Olson) on March 28, 1987, in Eau Claire. He lived his life enjoying hunting, fishing, gardening and gaming with his buddy, Graysen. David loved his family very much.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Appleyard of Palisade, MN; children: Justin Linberg of Whitehall, WI, Angel (Patrick) Wenk of Plymouth, MN, April (Nathan) Johnston of Brandon, MS; grandchildren: Graysen Wenk, Eveylou Johnston, Josiah Johnston and Eden Johnston; father, David F. Appleyard of Northfield, MN; brother and sister-in-law, Bob (Lynn) Appleyard of Blairsville, GA; and many other special relatives and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joey Appleyard; and brother, Bucky Appleyard.

A private family service will take place at a later date. Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Aitkin.
