Donald “Don” G. Bork

Donald “Don” George Bork passed away Friday, April 11, 2025.

Donald was born to Henry and Clara (Mertes) Bork in Winona, MN, December 21, 1946. He married Grace Lee, April 18, 1970. Don graduated from Cochrane-Fountain City High School in 1965, and after graduation, went into the U.S. Army and was in Vietnam. He then went to work at Warner and Swasey/Badger Construction and retired from there after 42 years.

Don liked hunting, fishing, gardening, being outdoors and bird watching. He enjoyed sharing his fresh catch and garden produce with family and friends. 

Don was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Grace; children: Christine (Ryan) Podein, and Kevin (Harmony) Bork; grandson, Brandon Bork; brother, David (Irene) Bork; sister, Rita (Don) Fort; and sister-in-law, Rosalie Bork.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eugene; and sisters: Phyllis and Jane.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, 3480 Service Dr., Goodview, MN, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. A private family burial will be held at Piepers Valley Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Hoff Celebration of Life Center is assisting the family.
