Dorothy B. Walski

Dorothy B. Walski, 88, of Centerville, passed away peacefully, Monday, June 28, 2021, surrounded by the love of her daughters.

She was born October 5, 1932, in Arcadia, to Michael and Rose (Lorbiecki) Bagniewski. In August 1952, she was united in marriage with George F. Walski. He preceded her in death, February 16, 2019.

Dorothy and George farmed for many years and was known as “Grandma Big Red” because of George’s restored Farmall M Tractor. Dorothy had a deep and abiding faith, and she was a longtime member of St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in Trempealeau where she was active with various organizations.

She will be remembered for her love of country music, fishing, cooking and gardening. She also enjoyed teaching Polish to her children and grandchildren, and more recently to the staff at Bluffview. Dorothy’s family and her faith were the foundations of her life, and she will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Dorothy is lovingly survived by her four daughters: Diane (Tony) Wagner, Linda (Chuck) Glowcheski, Anita (Brian) Lilla, and Kristine (Kurt Thill) Teske; grandchildren: Carl (Kate) Wagner, Sharon (Mark) Motszko, Michael (Jessica) Wagner, Keith Schlesser, Mason Lilla, Bradley Lilla, Carson Lilla, Jacob Teske, and Kasey Teske; great-grandchildren: Christopher and Claire Wagner, Grace and Anna Motszko, and Payten and Paisley Wagner; sister, Frances Czaplewski; brother, Franklin Bagniewski; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Donald Corey; and a brother-in-law, Dick Czaplewski.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 12, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in Trempealeau where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 5:30 p.m. The Reverend Antony Joseph will officiate. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Trempealeau.

Pallbearers will be Carl Wagner, Keith Schlesser, Michael Wagner, Mason Lilla, Jacob Teske, Bradley Lilla, and Carson Lilla.
