Duane F. Bork

Duane Francis Bork, 71, of Whitehall, died Sunday, December 20, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.

 Duane was born June 12, 1949, in rural Fountain City to Herman and Maureen (Patzner) Bork. 

 After working on the family farm, Duane hauled milk for seven years. He then went to AMPI in Blair and worked in the cheese factory for seventeen years. He also worked at Ashley Furniture in Arcadia where he retired after 20 years. He enjoyed cutting and selling firewood and had the nickname “Woodchuck.” Duane enjoyed his weekly visits to see his grandsons, Ethan and Owen, to play 500 rummy.

 Duane is survived by his friend, Sarah Johnson of rural Blair; four children: Crystal (Dwight) Sweno of rural Blair and their children: Abigail, Ethan and Owen; Travis (Jennifer) Perry of rural Independence and their children: Jenessa and Jocelyn; Lorinda Perry of Wausau and her children, Carter, Chloe, Corbin, Jayson, Madelyn and Stella; and Jennifer Larson of Augusta and her children; two sisters, Rosemary Goetting of Winona, MN, and Alice Bork of Waumandee; a brother, Mark (Dawn) Bork of Mondovi; a sister-in-law, Mary Bork of Wisconsin Dells; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

 An addition to his parents, Duane was preceded in death by two brothers: Michael and Timothy; and a grandson, Dylan.

 Funeral services will be held at a later date.

 Jack Funeral Home in Blair is assisting the family with arrangements.
