Eleanor Andre

Eleanor Andre, 96, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024.

Eleanor was born February 8, 1928, in Hale Township, Trempealeau County, to Albert and Agnes (Kampa) Halama. She married William “Bill” Andre, October 1, 1951, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Independence. Eleanor was a life-long beautician. She owned and operated a Beauty Shop in Independence for decades. She was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and it’s women’s organization and rosary society. Eleanor was an extremely talented artist/painter and landscaper.

Eleanor is survived by her children: Paula (Larry) Byrne, Noel (Paul) Daentl, Bill Andre and Sally Andre; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brothers: Donald Halama, Gerald (Delores) Halama and Conrad (Pat) Halama.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Andre; mother and father, Agnes and Albert Halama; sister, Bernice; brother-in-law, Bud Smieja; and sister-in-law, Eileen Halama.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father George Thayilkuzhithottu officiating.
