Elizabeth “Betty” J. Dascher

Elizabeth “Betty” J. Dascher, 78, of Arcadia, died peacefully, surrounded by family, July 3, 2024, at Grand View Care Center in Blair, under the care of St. Croix Hospice.

Betty was born in Whitehall, November 3, 1945, to Paul and Euphrosine (Giemza) Sobieck, and raised on the family farm in rural Independence. She was united in marriage to Dallas Dascher at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, November 11, 1967, and together the couple was blessed with twin sons, Tim and Tom, and daughter, Tammy.

Dallas unexpectedly preceded Betty in death in 1970, leaving her to raise her children on her own. She took pride in keeping a tidy home and well-manicured lawn and enjoyed gardening. Betty cleaned many commercial and residential buildings and homes, demonstrating a hard work-ethic and ensuring her family had what they need. She loved providing home cooked meals to her family and often shared sweets, popsicles and cookies with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Throughout her life, Betty liked to go fishing, play BINGO, and buy scratch-off lottery tickets whenever she had the opportunity.

Betty is survived by her children: Tim Dascher of Independence, Tom (Cathy) Dascher of Arcadia, and Tammy (Robin) Tamke of Arcadia; grandchildren: Jennie (Nick) Servais and Brittney (Josh) Blasing; great-grandchildren: Lakyn, Elizabella, Evannah, Easton, Emmett, Jaxon and Beau; sisters: Marie Conrad and Ruth Wegman; brother, Bob Sobieck; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dallas; sister, Esther Bisek; brothers: Ray, Everett “Poopsie”, Ralph, Adrian and Duane Sobieck; sister-in-law, Marilyn Sobieck; and brother-in-law, Eldon Conrad.

A funeral service for Betty was held Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., at Wozney-Killian Funeral Home in Arcadia. Father George Thayilkuzhithottu officiated. Family and friends were welcomed for visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial was at Arcadia Public Cemetery.
