Eymard H. Molitor

Eymard Hugh Molitor, 86, of rural Arcadia, died Monday, June 7, 2021, in his home.

Eymard was born May 11, 1935, in Arcadia, to Stephen and Genevieve (Breyer) Molitor. He married Mary Groenwoldt, November 28, 1964. Together they raised three children: Shannon, Joe and Ginger, on the farm in rural Arcadia.

Family was Eymard’s passion. Many of his nieces and nephews spent time on the farm during the summers to develop a work ethic. Hunting in the fall brought nieces, nephews, grandsons and friends together to celebrate the hunt, a Thanksgiving meal and football sometimes while enjoying Eymard’s secret recipe.

During the years they farmed, Mary and Eymard would take short road trips with the kids in tow to visit family around the area. Between planting and harvesting, the family would join with cousins, aunts and uncles to enjoy some time fishing on the backwaters of the Mississippi. As the years went on, Eymard’s focus changed from farming to gardening, donating much of his produce to the local nursing home and sending all he could with any of the family, friends and neighbors who visited.

Eymard is survived by his children: Shannon Olson (Tim), Joe (JoAnne Woolever) and Ginger; grandsons: Tyler and Logan Olson; his sister, Ellen Schlesser; sisters-in-law: Susan Molitor, Kathy Molitor and Cheryl Molitor; many nieces and nephews; and his fur babies: Ashes and Speedy.

In addition to his parents, Eymard was preceded in death by ex-wife, Mary; his siblings: Catherine Schaub (Wilferd), Virginia Anderson (Gordon), Caroline Klonecki (Appolinary), Geraldine Kujak (Martin), Genevieve (Gene) Eichman (John), Patricia Sobotta (Evarist); brothers: Stephen, Franklin and Lambert; and sisters-in-law: Shirley and Peggy Molitor.
