Geraldine “Geri” M. (Wicka) Herrick

Geraldine “Geri” Marie (Wicka) Herrick passed peacefully through the Gates of Heaven during the early morning hours of May 25, 2021. She was born June 4, 1939, in Arcadia, to Robert and Amelia (Goroski) Wicka, and was one of nine children.

Tired of the brutal mid-west winters, Geri moved to Las Vegas, NV, (sight unseen) in July of 1977, and lived there ever since. She especially enjoyed all the visitors she entertained throughout the years. She was a stay-at-home mother for most of her life, and joined the workforce when our father, Robert “Bobby” Herrick, died suddenly, February 11, 1985. Geri retired from Caesar’s Palace after spending many years there.

Our mother found simple joys in life which consisted of loving her ever-faithful dog, Max (now living with her daughter, Lisa), looking forward to daily hummingbird sightings, attending Saturday afternoon church, playing bingo, and watching Judge Judy and the Las Vegas Golden Knights (hockey team) on TV. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making delicious foods for all holidays.

Geri is survived by her four children: Bill (son, Justin) of Las Vegas, NV; Roberta Johnson (husband, Kirk, and daughters, Mira and Maelia) of Reno, NV; Ruth Resanovich (husband, Paul, and daughter, Brooke) of Henderson, NV; and Lisa Cleveland (husband, Bobby, and sons, Robert and Christopher) of Henderson, NV. She is also survived by her five remaining siblings: Dolores Thomas of Dodge; Bernard Wicka of Pulaski; Bette Fratzke of Winona, MN; Loretta Pehler of Arcadia; and Donnie Wicka of Buffalo City. Additionally, she has many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby; and three brothers: Gerald, Allen and David Wicka.

Services will be held Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church in Pine Creek, Wis. (the same church in which she was baptized, confirmed and married.) Interment will be held at a later date in Boulder City, NV. Please contact mrsrcleveland@yahoo.com for any further inquiries.
