Gerard A. Woychik

Gerard Anthony “Jerry” Woychik, 69, passed away peacefully at OakView Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Marion, IA, July 31, 2026, after several years of failing health.
Born October 8, 1956, in Arcadia, he first worked as a Computer Aided Designer with Collins (Cedar Rapids) and then Allen Bradley (Milwaukee). After graduating from Milwaukee School of Engineering, he spent many years as an electrical and aerospace engineer with Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids. He is the holder of numerous engineering patents. Next to his love of family, friends, and faith, was his love of tractors and farming. Fields of corn and soybeans, and a green tractor alongside a barn, inspired endless conversations.
He is survived by his wife, Chila; his son, Craig (and fiancée, Bronwyn); and his granddaughter, Violet. Also surviving are his siblings: Patricia Jenkins, Mary Stevenson, Dr. Richard Woychik and wife Janice, Dr. Charles Woychik and wife Lisa, and Dr. Nancy Woychik and husband Dan Albohn. He leaves behind nephews, nieces, and cousins he cherished, along with many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Leone Woychik; and several aunts and uncles.
Jerry was loved, and will be missed by many. He was a faithful husband, father and friend.
A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Faith Bible Church, 1800 46th St. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The National Kidney Foundation, Bridge of Life (DaVita), or your local church or synagogue.
