Gladys M. (Barber) McPherson

Gladys Mary (Barber) McPherson, 93, passed away peacefully, September 23, 2024, at Marinuka Manor in Galesville.
Gladys was born October 2, 1930, in Exeland, WI, the daughter of James and Elizabeth Barber, first generation American of Scottish descent. Gladys was a lifelong Presbyterian, and member of the First Presbyterian Church of Galesville.
The love of her life was her husband, Russell, and her greatest interest in life were her children and grandchildren. Gladys was a licensed beautician and retired from the Gillette Company after 25 years of employment.
She is survived by her two sons: Rusty (Sheila), and Doug (Jeanne); grandchildren: Jesse (Jenna), Jason (Amber), Siera, Nathan; and former daughter-in-law, Shannon; great-grandchildren: Nichole, Ethan, Andrew, Autumn, Conner, Collin, Kaden, Kevin, Colton, and Olivia; and great-great-grandson, Damon; siblings: Irene, Gloria, Byron “Enie”, Judy and Joyce; and her special canine companion, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, a/k/a “Super”; an impressive garden and five good hens.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Ella, Lillian, Elizabeth “Bunty”; and brother, James “Sonny”.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Ruby Glass Cafe, 23716 Washington St., Hwy. 93, Independence. Interment will be held at a later date at Elmhurst Cemetery beside Russell.
