Janice Fink

Janice Fink, 83, of Arcadia, passed away, with her son by her side, and then surrounded by family, Friday, February 24, 2023, at Pine View Care Center in Black River Falls.

Janice was born in Arcadia, March 30, 1939, to Henry and Emma (Kube) Dabelstein. After graduating from high school, she worked briefly for Arcadia Industries. On January 20, 1962, she was united in marriage to Roger Fink at American Lutheran Church, now known as Christ Lutheran Church, in Arcadia. Together, the couple farmed on Pine Creek Ridge, and Janice enjoyed every bit of farm life, from milking and feeding cows to helping with planting and harvesting. She truly loved taking care of her yard, mowing and tending to her plants and flowers. In her spare time, Janice enjoyed baking, sewing and playing cards. In her younger years, Janice bowled on a Ma and Pa league, enjoyed snowmobiling and liked to dance to Old-Time Polka music. Janice had a special place in her heart for all little children and made sure to help each year with Kindergarten round-up to ensure the school enrollment of all of the kids on the ridge. She was especially fond of becoming a grandma and great-grandma. She was a wonderful mom, grandma, neighbor, and friend, and will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Janice is survived by her children: Susan (Robert) Hoeritz of Ettrick, Dale (former wife, Billie Jo) Fink of Trempealeau, and Sandra (former husband, Todd) Warthan of Sparta; grandchildren: Cody Fink, Samantha Fink, and Brody Warthan; great-granchildren: Nora and Henry Fink; sister-in-law, Theresa Dabelstein; brother-in-law, Leonard Robinson; and many other relatives, neighbors and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger; brothers: Richard “Daby” (Adeline) and David Dabelstein; sisters: Joann “Josie” Robinson and Bonnie (Rick) Linberg; and many in-laws.

A funeral service for Janice will be held Friday, March 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., at Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor David Johnson officiating. Family and friends are welcome for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at church. Burial will be at a later date in Glencoe Lutheran Cemetery, rural Arcadia.
