Jeffrey “Jeff” K. ‘Jake’ Jacobson

Jeffrey “Jeff” K. ‘Jake’ Jacobson passed away peacefully, Sunday, February 21, 2021, at home on his farm, surrounded by his loving family and his significant other, Barb.

Jeff was born in La Crosse, January 29, 1957, to Harlan and Delores ‘Rusty’ Jacobson. They preceded him in death in 2009 and 2011. He graduated from Central High School in 1975, and worked for the family moving company for many years until he bought his farm up near Centerville.

Jeff was always telling jokes, and had many passions over the years — go-karting, fishing, hunting, training horses and collecting keepsakes. His trips to Colorado visiting his kids were a highlight of his life and his love of music lived in him until the end.

We all thought that he was a city boy, but after buying his hobby farm about 15 years ago, his passion for animals was renewed. There he had horses, cows, goats, ducks, chickens, a stray cat or two and his dogs: Willy, Curly & Missy.

He is survived by his two beautiful children, Jonny & Chrissy; his brother, Randy (Pati) Jacobson; two sisters: Julie (Steve) Springer and Renee Plunkett; one surviving uncle, Ray Sime; many cousins, nieces & nephews; and his significant other, Barb Albinger. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Ryan Jacobson, in 2010.

The family wishes to thank Joni and the staff at Gundersen for their unfailing care & support during his fight; and his many good buddies throughout this journey we call life, especially Danny LaHue, whom he loved like a brother. Where there is deep grief, there is great love.

Zwickey Funeral Homes, Galesville Chapel, assisted the family.
