John B. Peterson, Sr.

John B. Peterson, Sr., 69, of Superior, died Sunday, August 24, 2025, after a long battle with cancer, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

John was born in Whitehall, May 17, 1956, the son of Dennis and Gloria (Swenson) Peterson. He married Elizabeth “Casey” Culhane, November 1, 1980, and they celebrated 43 years of marriage until her death in 2023.

John had worked in construction and sales for many years. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, pontoon rides and trips to Vegas. John was an avid Green Bay Packers and Badgers fan. He loved socializing with his friends.

John is survived by his children: Ann (Lyle) Nygren, John “JP” (Sarah) Peterson, Jr., and Matt (Amanda) Peterson; grandchildren,: Hazel and Ava Hattenberger, Halle and Liam Peterson, Lily and Danny Peterson, and Ashton and Ava Nygren; and special friend, Julie Rozowski. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Casey; sister, Emily Ringlien; and brother, Daniel Peterson.

A Celebration of John’s Life will be held Friday, September 19, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Aces on 29th, 2827 Oakes Ave., Superior.
