June W. Richason

June Winifred Richason, 90, of Galesville, died Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse.

She was born June 15, 1933, in Wisconsin, to Ben and Susan (Butson) Johnson. After graduating from high school, June married Nelson “Nels” Richason, July 6, 1952, in Livingston, WI. For many years, the couple resided in Galesville. Nels preceded her in death, May 27, 2023. Besides caring for her family, June was employed at various factories in the area including Northern Engraving in Ettrick.

Survivors are three sons: Stan, Jim (Sue), John (Anne Gisvold); two daughters: Kathy (Larry) Durfey, Patty (Dean) Sass; seven grandchildren: Kevin (Christy) Olson, Justin Olson, Tyler (Kristen) Sass, Megan Richason, Andy Richason, Cooper Richason, Devin Richason; three great-grandchildren: Jackson Olson, Nora and Warren Sass; and a sister-in-law, Carole Johnson.

Preceding her in death were her husband; and two brothers: Kenneth and Ivan.

Services were held Monday, July 10, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church in Galesville. A luncheon immediately followed services with burial then following at Evergreen Cemetery in Centerville. Friends could call at the church on Monday, one hour prior to service time.
