Kenneth “Ken” B. Amundson

 

Kenneth “Ken” B. Amundson, 79, of Chippewa Falls, died peacefully, Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at BeeHive Homes Memory Care in Eau Claire, surrounded by his loving family. 

On May 18, 1945, Ken was born to Bennie and LaVon (Mahutga) Amundson in Arcadia. He graduated from Arcadia High School in 1963. Ken was united in marriage to Ruth Andre, December 30, 1963, in Arcadia.

Ken worked for AG Co-Op while living in Arcadia, and for Nestle USA after moving to Eau Claire. Ken liked going on trips with Ruth, hunting, fishing and spending time with friends and family. Ken was a loving husband, caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

Ken is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth; daughters: Christine (Mike) Hannon and Jennifer (Ken) Anderson; sons: Douglas (Jeanne) Amundson and Jeffrey (Paula) Amundson; grandchildren: Mikhaela Amundson, Andrew Amundson, Megan Amundson, Ian Amundson, Jordin Dascher, Morgin Schultz and Camryn Anderson; great-grandchildren: Lio Rose Elise Amundson and Ila Ann Dascher; siblings: Roger (Janet) Amundson, Helen (Mike) Mikrut, Mary (Roger) Ziegler, and William (Jane) Amundson; along with many other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and LaVon Amundson; father and mother-in-law, Edward and Josephine Andre; brothers-in-law: Edward Andre Jr., Adrian Andre, Daniel Andre; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Wicka.

A Funeral Mass was held Monday, November 25, 2024, at 12 p.m., at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th St, Eau Claire. Visitation began at 10:00 a.m., at the church. Fr. Tom Krieg officiated. Interment will be at a later date. 

The family would like to thank BeeHive Homes Memory Care and St. Croix Hospice for the compassionate and exceptional care provided to Ken.
