Kurt Reinhard

Kurt Reinhard, 90, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025. He has resided at Callista Court in Winona, MN, for the last three years on hospice care.
Kurt previously lived in Centerville, where he and his wife, Janet, spent their time and passion operating Beanpot Antiques. Kurt was born in Winona, MN, March 5, 1935. His parents were Junior and Ida Reinhard both of Winona. Kurt attended Winona schools until graduation when he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for three years in Alaska. Kurt’s long time girlfriend, Janet Kreuzer, was waiting for him in Winona and they were married February 8, 1958.
Kurt was active in the Winona Community for many years with the local JCs and Elks Club. Kurt enjoyed hunting for “pretty rocks” on the many car rides he took his family on and hunting in East Burns Valley with his lifelong friends.
Kurt has been retired from WSU for 28 years and wheeling and dealing in antiques for over 50+ years. Kurt was the founder of the Winona Watkins Society which had members from all over the United States attending yearly conventions. Kurt was also an author. He wrote a book for the Watkins Collectors Society which cataloged everything of Watkin’s history from salesman samples to Watkin’s promotional pie plates.
Kurt is survived by: his only brother, Michael O. (Diana) Reinhard of Florida; and his significant other, Beverly Schaller of Galesville. Kurt and Janet had four children: Terri (Perry Tibesar), Marilyn (Kroening), Mark and Nancy (Johnson) Reinhard and Marijo Reinhard. Kurt leaves behind eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Kurt was preceded in death by his parents, Junior and Ida Reinhard; Brad Kroening; along with Janet, his wife of 41 years.
Visitation was held Tuesday October 7, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Fawcett Funeral Home, 1476 W. Broadway, Winona, MN.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Winona Health Hospice, Winona, MN. Kurt had caring nurses who saw him through his end-of-life journey. Kurt’s nurse, Nikki, was compassionate and always willing to give Kurt a hard time and joke about the Packers.
Please believe that Kurt has gone to the big auction house in the sky where his wife, Janet, has been saving him a chair for 27 years.
