Larry J. Gunderson

Larry J. Gunderson, 80, of Blair, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Tomah.
Larry was born October 17, 1944, to Loren and Dorothy (Smeija) Gunderson. He was a member of the Whitehall High School Graduating Class of 1963. After graduating, Larry was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On September 18, 1976, Larry was united in marriage to Linda M. Coburn.
Larry farmed for most of life in the Blair area. As an avid outdoorsman, Larry enjoyed hunting, especially racoon and bear hunting. Deer hunting every year was a family tradition. He was affectionally known as the “Rabbit Warden” by friends and family. Running the dogs, logging with his team of horses, hangin in town with the boys and attending horse pulls were a few of his favorite things to do. He was a gifted storyteller who would draw you in with his stories. With his lighthearted sense of humor and being a bit of a jokester, Larry could always find a way to bring a smile to your face and a laugh or two.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, of Blair; two sons: Timothy Gunderson and Daniel (signification other, Stephanie Heath) Gunderson, all of Blair; two step-granddaughters: Kiara and Aliyah Wilkes; mother-in-law, Deloris Coburn of Pigeon Falls; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Chuck (Mary) Coburn of Amite, LA, Jay (Dawn) Coburn of Whitehall, John Coburn of Newport, TN, Paul (Tammie) Coburn of Whitehall, and Mary (Arne) Fremstad of DeSoto. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Frank Coburn; a nephew, Neil; and a niece, Kari.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday May 17, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., at the Whitehall Rod & Gun Club.
