Linda L. Clark

 

Linda Louise Clark of Trempealeau County, formerly of Arcadia, passed away at the age of 69 with her husband and children at her side, at 11:45 a.m., March 20, 2021.

The second of six children, Linda was born August of 1951, at home on the Drietz Century Farm in Ivanhoe, MN, to Marcellus and Irene Drietz. Linda went on to meet Michael Clark at a dance at the ‘Showboat’ in Lake Benton, MN, in 1968. Linda married Michael a year later in Wilno, MN, and they would spend the next 51 years together. Linda and Michael started their lives together as a military family. As a U.S. Navy wife, Linda would go on to raise her family in seven states: MN, HI, CA, WV, MD, ME, and the District of Columbia before settling in Wisconsin.

Linda was a very talented and creative artist who worked in numerous mediums including carving, sewing, hand drawing, painting, stained glass, paper works and mixed media. Linda’s love of art could also be seen through her collecting. Linda could often be found frequenting yard sales, thrift shops and auctions waiting for something to catch her eye.

Linda enjoyed working and found personal satisfaction in positions where she was able to serve and help others. Her work included retail and disability services and she enjoyed volunteering her time and talent with a group that made handiwork for people in need.

Linda found great pleasure in her deep connections with family and friends. She kept busy, nurturing relationships with her children, grandchildren, and extended family, despite their geographic locations. Linda is survived by her father, Marcellus Drietz; her husband, Michael Clark; children: Perry Clark (Jeanine) of St. Peter, MN, Gabriel Clark (Deborah) of Frisco, TX, Shannon Bragger (Johann) of Independence; grandchildren: Nathan, Seth, and Spencer (Perry), Emily, Sarah, Katie, and Gabriel (Gabriel), Gavin and Andrew (Shannon); siblings: Charlene (Ken) Hackbarth of Monterey, CA, Myron (Pamala) Drietz of Backes, MN, Duane Drietz of Marshall, MN, Christine (Randy) Kraus of St. Leo, MN, and Keith Drietz of Ivanhoe, MN. Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Irene Drietz.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Linda, Thursday, March 25, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Community Room, located within the Riverland Energy Cooperative building in Arcadia.

Visitation and Mass for Linda will be held Saturday, March 27, at St. John Cantius Church in, Wilno, MN, with visitation at 10:00 a.m., and Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at St. John Cantius Cemetery immediately following the service. At the conclusion of the burial, a Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Linda at Ivanhoe VFW, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
