Marlene K. Mathson
Marlene Kristina Mathson, 80, of Blair, died Saturday, March 16, 2024, in her home.
Marlene was born June 4, 1943, in Arcadia, to Henry and Elma (Larson) Hoff. She married Leslie “Coty” T. Mathson, July 7, 1962, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Arcadia. Leslie preceded Marlene in death, March 16, 2022. Marlene worked for Countryside Lefse for 30 years. She and her mom, Elma, collected and sold dolls for 30 years, as well. This was a hobby she enjoyed immensely.
Marlene is survived by three sons: Layne, Mark and Patrick (Deborah Clare); three grandchildren: Jessica (Chris) Collins, Casey (Megan Schultz) Mathson and Michael Johnson; three great-grandchildren: Brynn, Collins, Axytyn Collins and Drayce Collins; two step-grandchildren: Erica Schuch and Nathan Schuch; three step-great-grandchildren: Kiylee Phillipson, Aubrey Schuch and George Schuch; a sister, Sonja Nezworski; two nieces: Stacy (Scott) Miller and Kara (Travis) Nehring; a nephew, Kurt (Eliza) Mathson; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Keith and Penny Mathson.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marlene was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law: Sally Mathson and Linda Sokolosky; a niece, Sara Mathson; and Mark’s significant other, Sidney Schuch.
A Mass of Christian burial was held Friday, March 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Saint Ansgar’s Catholic Church with burial in the Rest Haven Cemetery, both in Blair. Father Zacharie Beya officiated. Friends could call one hour prior to the service.
