Marvin “Mickey” P. Onstad Jr.

Marvin “Mickey” Palmer Onstad Jr., 66, of Independence, died peacefully at home, Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
Mickey was born July 24, 1958, to Marvin and Anna (Rombalski) Onstad in Eau Claire. When Mickey was born, he was very small. One of the nurses called him Mickey Mouse so he was called Mickey ever since.
Mickey enjoyed putt-putt golfing, fishing, camping, go-carting, going to casinos, concerts and Ashley for the Arts. He went to many Brewers games and one time he went on his birthday to Miller Park where his name was on the jumbotron. He also loved racing. Mickey went to many races at Elkhart Lake and numerous other races including supercross motorcycles, drag races, and monster trucks. He went to Las Vegas and rode in a helicopter to the Grand Canyon.
Mickey worked at ORC for 35 years. He had the gift of being able to talk to anyone he met and was the “snoopervisor” of Independence.
Mickey will be deeply missed by his mother, Anna; brothers: Ronald (Marlene) Onstad, Robert (Dawn) Onstad, Randy Onstad, and Stephen (Karen) Onstad; nieces: Mandy (Mark) Sekey, Ashley (Chris Sorenson) Onstad, Samantha (DJ) McCourt; nephew, Michael Onstad; a special aunt, Sr. Rosemary Rombalski; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. We were all gifted by his presence in our lives. Now he walks with the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Sr.; grandparents, Paul and Mable Onstad and Ignatz and Julia Rombalski; and sister-in-law, Debbie Onstad.
