Maxine (Heaser) Prondzinski

Maxine (Heaser) Prondzinski, 78, of Galesville, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Health System – Franciscan Healthcare in La Crosse.

Maxine was born June 25, 1942, in Winona, MN, to Clint and Bernice (Gage) Heaser. She was a graduate of Cotter High School. Maxine married David Prondzinski, August 12, 1961. She was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother (GiGi).

Maxine loved children, so it came as no surprise that she worked as a teacher’s aide for over 20 years at Arcadia Elementary School in Arcadia. She also worked many summers with her close friend, Hilde Kriesel, at The Berry Patch in Trempealeau.

Maxine loved going on road trips, which oftentimes involved attending the sporting events of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed video conferencing with her friends and family. Maxine loved the smell of lilacs, monitoring her bird feeders and being outside. She enjoyed reading mystery and romance novels and watching the Hallmark channel. Maxine was described by those close to her as being fun-loving and the bright light of the family. She was always there when you needed her. Her loss is devastating.

Maxine is survived by her children: Gary Prondzinski (Gretchen), Mark (Brenda) Prondzinski, Lori (Todd) Beck and Jamie Prondzinski; grandchildren: Jaci (Karl), Josh, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Austin, Haley, Blake and (Sammi); great-grandchildren: Blaze, Bowie, Cora, (Maeva) and (Nash); brother, Jim (Judy) Heaser; sisters: Shari (Bill) Haack and Elaine McLeod; brother-in-law, Mike (Cathy) Prondzinski; sister-in-law, Mary (Jim) Yahnke; and many nieces and nephews.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, David Prondzinski; parents, Clint and Bernice (Gage) Heaser; and brother-in-law, John McLeod.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., Friday, June 18, 2021, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Following the burial, a luncheon and Celebration of Life for Maxine will be held at the Town of Buffalo Town Hall in Bluff Siding, W387 Hwy. 35/54, from 1:00 p.m., until whenever.
