Merlin O. Semb

 Merlin Odell Semb, 79, passed away peacefully, Friday, October 9, 2020, at Pigeon Falls Health Care Center in Pigeon Falls, surrounded by his family.

 Merlin was born October 18, 1940, in Whitehall to Milfred and Marcella (Engebretson) Semb. He attended several area schools, including Daggett, Reynold’s Coulee and Hale Caswell School. He was active in 4-H, with the Hale & Hardy 4-H Club.

 Merlin was a hard worker, and through the years, helped with farming. He worked at the Joey Pryzbilla Sawmill, Guse Construction doing concrete work, the Pigeon Falls Feed Mill, hauled milk for the Pigeon Creamery and then lastly worked at Tiffany Tie & Lumber for 23 years.

 Merlin’s favorite hobbies were watching ball games, especially the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed NASCAR® and old western movies on television.

 Merlin was a kind, gentle and quiet man who was happy with a simple life and content with what he had. He had a huge heart and loved his family.

 Merlin is survived by his brother, Donald Semb of Pigeon Falls; a sister, Selina Moen; and a niece, Michelle Moen, both of Melrose.

 Merlin was preceded in death by his parents.

 Private family services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020, at 1:00 p.m., at Peace Lutheran of Pigeon Falls with burial in the Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, both in Pigeon Falls. Pastor Mary Ann Bowman officiating. Public graveside services will be held at 1:45 p.m.

 Visitation will be held Friday, October 16, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall. Facial coverings and social distancing will be required.
