Michealene M. Reedy

 

Michealene Mary Reedy, 93, of La Crosse, and formerly of Arcadia, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Bethany St. Joseph Home in La Crosse.

Michealene was born August 24, 1927, in Independence, to Francis and Mary (Przybilla) Wozney. She graduated from Independence High School. Michealene married Bruce B. Reedy, November 23, 1946, at Ss. Peter & Paul Church in Independence. She then earned her degree in Licensed Practical Nursing and went on to work at the Arcadia Nursing Home. She also earned a Wisconsin Real Estate License. Michealene was a loving mother to 12 children, 26 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her incredible love and devotion to her family as well as her tremendously sharp mind, wit and love for learning. She was a talented homemaker and seamstress.

Michealene is survived by five sons: James (Marilyn) Reedy, Galesville; Bruce W. (Sheryl) Reedy, Galesville; Gary (Penny) Reedy, La Crosse; Craig Reedy, Galesville; Gordon (Tammie) Reedy, Trempealeau; six daughters: Karen (Rodney) Patzner, Whitefish Bay; Kristine Bartholomew, Shawano; Jane (Steve) Messick, Hastings, MN; Lisa (Christopher) Jones, Amarillo, TX; Mary (Todd) Erickson, Woodbury, MN; Margo Prom, La Crosse; sisters: Dolores Higie and Kathleen Ford; brother, James Wozney; 22 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, Francis and Mary Wozney; husband, Bruce B. Reedy; son, Gaylord Reedy; daughter-in-law, Mary; brother, Jerry Wozney; sisters: JoAnn Ford and infant, Anne Wozney; three granddaughters; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, a private Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Parish, Onalaska. Monsignor Steven Kachel was the celebrant. Entombment was in the Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum, La Crosse.

A Celebration of Life in her honor will be held at a later date. Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Homes and Crematory, Jostad Chapel, West Salem, assisted the family in their time of need. The Mass was livestreamed and can be accessed by visiting the parishes website at www.stpatsonalaska.com.
