Nelly “Nell” M. Richman

Nelly “Nell” M. Richman (née Corcoran), 90, of Milwaukee, formerly Eau Claire and Ettrick, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

Nell was born in Ettrick, May 15, 1934, to Myrtle and Donald Corcoran. Raised on a farm, she was the oldest of seven children, began her formal education in a one room school house and graduated from Galesville High School in 1952.

She married John (Jack) Richman, 1956. They eventually settled in Eau Claire where they raised their three children: Timothy, Kelly and Shannon.

While parenting, Nell found the time to pursue her desire to attend nursing school. She graduated from Eau Claire Technical College in 1976. She utilized her degree and compassion to serve others while working at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire and numerous nursing homes in the Milwaukee area where she remained employed until age 72.

Nell is survived by her children: Timothy (Margaret) Richman, Kelly Richman, and Shannon (Dan) Bitenc; grandchildren: Casey (Cassie) Kaiser, Max (Chelsea) Kaiser, Allison (Kevin) Caufield, Jackson Richman, Sydney Bitenc, and Henry Bitenc; and great-grandchildren: Eva and Cameron. She is further survived by siblings: Larry Corcoran and Kathy Kobs; sisters-in-law: Sharon and Mardi Corcoran; brothers-in-law: Ralph Gardner and Jeff Kobs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Nell was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Grant Richman; sister, Patricia Gardner; brothers: John, Richard and Ronald Corcoran; sisters-in-law: Judy and Bonnie Corcoran; and nephew, Chad Corcoran.

The family would like to thank the staff of Close to Home where Nell was affectionately cared for over the past six years as well as Heartland Hospice for their additional tender service.

Nell will be interred at St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Ettrick. A Celebration of Life will take place at a future date.
