Orris C. Olson

Orris C. Olson, 81, of Maricopa, AZ, passed away peacefully, July 26, 2025, from Colon Cancer.

Orris was born and raised in rural Blair to Oscar and Celia Olson (Anderson). He spent his youth working on the family farm in Larkin Valley. Orris spent the majority of his adult life in Blair. He owned and operated Olson’s Car Sales and Service for 30+ years. Upon retirement in 2009, Orris and his wife, Julie, relocated to Maricopa, AZ.

Orris enjoyed attending the sports and activities of his children and grandchildren. More than anything, he enjoyed a competitive game of Euchre with family and friends. Many of his grandchildren learned to play with him at the card table. Orris was quick to laugh, and relished sharing a good meal with friends. His ‘Taco Tuesday’ group outing each week was a cherished event during his retirement years. Orris also became a die-hard Arizona Diamondbacks fan and rarely missed a televised game. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren.

Most importantly, Orris was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend.

Orris is survived by his sons: Mark Olson (Tara), Reedsburg WI, and Jeff Ballentine (Dawn), Bloomer, WI; and daughter, Kassie Ballentine, North Port, FL. He’ll be greatly missed by his grandchildren: Samantha, Tabatha, Julia, Jay, Kyra, Madelyn, Alayna, Clayre and Marcus; and step-grandchildren: Jace, Jaren, Kaylyn and Josh; and great-grandchildren, Keenan and Camille.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and only sibling, his sister, Elaine (Wycoff). Orris was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Julie (Johnson), who passed away in May.
