Patricia “Pat” F. Dahl
Patricia Faye Dahl, 85, of Manchester, IA, formerly of Turtle Lake and Blair, died Sunday, August 27, 2023, after a short stay at Grand View Care Center in Blair.
Patricia was born September 2, 1937, in Holmen, to Orrin and Marjorie (Olson) Olson. She married David Dahl, January 12, 1957. Patricia was a homemaker, but also worked for the Blair School District as a teacher’s aide. She also taught Sunday School at the Zion Lutheran Church.
Patricia was an avid trapshooter and golfer with two holes in one among her achievements. She and David loaded their own shotgun shells and Pat took the canvas shot bags and fashioned her own vest and shorts. As a talented seamstress, she also designed and sewed cheerleading outfits for granddaughter’s squad of twelve.
Pat and David wintered in Texas and often invited family to enjoy time with them on South Padre Island and Progresso, Mexico. She served coffee and treats to their Texas friends and neighbors on a regular basis. Pat and David also enjoyed polka music and dancing.
Patricia is survived by her husband, David; a son, Bruce Dahl of Berlin; two daughters: Sandra Thomley of Blair and Connie (fiancé, Rick Winegar) Schullo of Birchwood; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Greta Johnson of Blair; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffrey Tyler; and two sisters: Rheta Stone and Lois Roy.
Graveside services and burial will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Blair. Mr. Scott Brown will officiate.
A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow at the Preston Town Hall in Blair until 4:00 p.m.
