Robert “Bob” D. Baures Sr.

Robert “Bob” Daniel Baures Sr., 76, passed away January 23, 2024. He was born June 10, 1947, in Winona, MN, to Daniel J. Baures and Mary (Wenzel) Baures.

Robert married Nancy (Power) Armstrong in 1967, and had sons Bob Jr. and Chad. He and Nancy divorced in 1989. Robert served in the U.S. Army from 1968 – 1970, one year in Vietnam. He was awarded three Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star with Valor. Robert worked at Peerless Chain Company for 18 years. For the next 30 years, he owned six businesses in western Wisconsin.

Robert is survived by a very special loving friend and partner of 36 years, Sheila Lind; sister, Judy (Baures) Campbell and husband John of Fountain City; son, Robert Baures Jr., wife Linda; and grandson, Donny of Fountain City; also, son, Chad Baures; and grandson, Ian of Minneapolis, MN.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; half-brother, Tom Dureske; Jerry / Cookie; and half-sister, Jolene Dureske Ewings (Gary).

Per Bob’s request, there will be no services. A Celebration of Life service is to be announced. Talbot Family Funeral Homes – Scenic Rivers Cremation Center assisted the family.
