Robert “Bob” J. Myers

Robert “Bob” J. Myers, 80, formerly of Fountain City and Arcadia, died Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.

Bob was born in Arcadia, October 24, 1942, to Wilfred “Buzzy” and Dorothy (Klonecki) Myers. After graduating from high school, Bob attended technical courses for welding and also completed truck driving school. For many years, Bob farmed in Myers Valley before passing on the farm to his son, Tony. He then began driving over the road in his beloved Peterbilt — visiting new places, meeting new people — and brokering for various trucking companies. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing and traveling all over the country. He loved going to Major League Baseball games and would travel to other states to attend spring training camps and pre-seasons games.

Bob is survived by his children: Teri (Gregg) Luhmann of Titusville, FL, and Tony (Niki) Myers of Arcadia; grandchildren: Brandon (Bailey) Luhmann, Gregg (Jolene) Luhmann, Isabel Myers and Sawyer Myers; great-grandson, Oliver Luhmann; sister, Mary Jane Wolfe; brother, Kenneth (Dottie) Myers; and sister-in-law, Ruth Myers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Taylor Robert Luhmann; brothers: Joseph and Ronald Myers; and brother-in-law, David Wolfe.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, rural Arcadia. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held following the graveside service at the Arcadia Country Club, beginning at noon.
