Roger T. Reichwein

Roger Theodore Reichwein, 76, of Arcadia, died peacefully, Thursday, August 25, 2022, at his home, under the care of Winona Area Hospice, after a 7-year battle with Amyloidosis.

Roger was born November 6, 1945, in Bellevue, IA, to Theodore and Mary (Heinemann) Reichwein. When Roger was two, his family moved to Arcadia. After graduating from Arcadia High School, he served in the U.S. National Guard. Roger attended Coleman Technical College in La Crosse where he studied to become an electrician. He started his career at Arcadia Furniture, then worked as a self-employed electrician, and then concluded his career at Ashley Furniture when he retired in 2011.

Roger was united in marriage to Ann Kampa at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Independence, April 5, 1972, and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this spring. Roger was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, served with the Trempealeau County Parks Committee, Arcadia Utility Commision, and drove a school bus route for over 45 years, hauling multiple generations of students, with the Arcadia School District. In his spare time, Roger enjoyed the outdoors and participated in activities such as deer hunting, woodworking, camping, boating, and water skiing. After retirement, Roger and Ann would enjoy winters in Arizona and both loved to spend time with their children and grandchildren. Though Roger was outspoken at times, he had a good-humored heart and shared abundant love with his family.

Roger is survived by his wife, Ann; daughter, Jill Wieczorek; Robert (Maegan Huber-Reichwein) Reichwein, and Ross (Jacqui) Reichwein; grandchildren: Katherine (Seth) Krogman, Elizabeth (Ben) Slaby, Garrett Huber, Madelyn Reichwein, Alexis Reichwein, Beckett and Quinn Reichwein; great-grandchildren: Sienna Slaby and Baby Krogman; sister, Donna (David) Reichwein-Kampa; brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Andrew (Deena) Reichwein.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 2, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church in Arcadia, with Father Kyle Laylan officiating. Family and friends are welcome for visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at church. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, outside Arcadia. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations will be used to establish a scholarship fund for the benefit of area students looking to pursue a trade-based career.
