Ronald “Ron” L. Kruse

 

Ronald “Ron” Lloyd Kruse, of Brookville, OH, formerly of Winona, MN, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024.

Ron was born July 19, 1931, to Nina (Hoover) and Lloyd Kruse of Centerville. Ron served in the U.S. Army in Korea between 1951 and 1954. He was the Boy Scouts of America’s Game Council Executive for four years before becoming an Industrial Arts teacher at Winona Jr. High School in 1964. Upon retirement, he worked on seven church builds with the Lutheran Mission Builders.

Ron is survived by a sister, Nancy Hovell; his four children: Rhona (Kent) Speltz of Englewood, OH, Ted (Karen) Kruse of Apple Valley, MN, Norm (Stacy) Kruse of Chanhassen, MN, and Kevin (Rebecca) Kruse of Lakeville, MN; 11 grandchildren: Kendra (Nick) Orrill, Kurt and Jared (Sarah) Speltz, Kelli (Adam) McConnell, Michelle (Steve) McGuire, Mathew (Lisa), John (Ali), Alicia, Alex, Philip and Aaron Kruse; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Maurice Kruse; a sister, Janyce Anderson; and his beloved wife, LaDonna (Hagen) of 63 years.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Central Lutheran Church in Winona, MN, followed by military honors provided by the American Legion – Leon J. Wetzel Post 9, Winona, MN. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Centerville. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
