Rosemary T. Pientok

Rosemary Teresa Pientok (Smick), 86, of Greeneville, TN, passed away peacefully, September 9, 2026.

Rosemary was born December 2, 1939, in Independence, to Joseph and Gertrude (Dejno) Smick. Rosemary attended Independence Schools and graduated with the Class of 1958. Rosemary married David Pientok on May 13, 1961, and had two children: Douglas and Natalie.

Rosemary and David raised their children in Kenosha, WI, and moved back to the area where they were born and raised in 1989. Rosemary loved to bake, sew (especially aprons for family and friends), and tend to her flowers, hummingbirds, and … squirrels! She had a huge heart for animals and took every opportunity to interact with them. Rosemary was not one to sit still. She loved to walk and did a variety of things to keep busy. She loved to play games and often won, even though she most always said she had no idea how to play!

Being around family and friends brought her great joy. Her family grew exponentially because she became ‘Mom P’ and ‘Grandma P’ to many beyond her immediate family. Rosemary was beloved and will be fondly remembered by all those blessed to have known her.

Rosemary will be greatly missed by her son, Douglas Pientok of Sun City West, AZ; daughter, Natalie (John) May of Greeneville, TN; two granddaughters: Abigail May of Charleston, SC and Amanda Andolino (Anthony) of Milwaukee, WI; great-granddaughter, Magnolia May Fisher; brother, Rudy (Lila) Smick; and by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, David; her sister, Bernice Kulig (Smick); and her parents, Joseph and Gertrude Smick. Rosemary will be laid to rest next to her husband, David, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Independence.

A Celebration of Life and service for Rosemary will be held at a later date.
