Theresa R. Zastrow
Theresa Rose Zastrow, 86, of Arcadia, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, Sunday, October 3, 2021, under the care of St. Croix Home Hospice.
Theresa was born in Buffalo County, June 4, 1935, to La Verne and Clara (Thompson) Wieland. She was united in marriage to Raymond Zastrow, February 22, 1952, at Lyster Lutheran Church, rural Alma. Ray and Theresa built a busy home full of love, laughter and 17 children. Theresa loved to grow flowers and plants, play cards, and embroider quilts for her children and grandchildren. Theresa also loved to bake, and was well known for her apple pies, cookies and pumpkin bars. Outside of her home, Theresa was a member of Christ Lutheran Church where she volunteered with the Women of the ELCA. She also was a past President and Vice President of the local Aid Association for Lutherans Chapter. She very much enjoyed spending time with her family and reconnecting with extended family at family reunions. Her bright smile and caring demeanor will be forever cherished by her children.
Theresa is survived by her daughters: Paulette (Robert) Rippley of Arizona, Lorna (Paul) Weaver of Arcadia, Karen Unser of Durand, Dawn (Dan) Frahm of Dodge, Sandra (Mark) Frahm of Dodge, Jayne (Patrick) Meier of Winona, MN, and Dana (Jon) Peterson of Arcadia; sons: Michael of Arcadia, Warren of Durand, Richard (Heather) of Arcadia, Brian (Theresa Bauer) of Arcadia; Neil (Joni Faustino) of Winona, MN, Eldon (Cathy Purdy) of Arcadia; and Bradley of Dodge; 31 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters: Diane Bernicke of Texas, Carol (Gilbert) Arnoldy of Nelson, and Barbara (Kenneth) Unser of Eau Galle; brother, Roger Wieland of Menomonie; sisters-in-law: Betty Wieland of Nelson and Twylah Wieland of Amery; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sons: Raymond Jr., Linus, and a baby in infancy; brothers: Duane Wieland and La Verne Wieland Jr.; grandson, Joseph Unser; and sons-in-law: John Unser and George Wantlin.
Funeral Services for Theresa were held Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at Christ Lutheran Church, Arcadia. Reverend David Johnson officiated. Family and friends were invited for visitation Friday, October 8, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Wozney-Killian Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
