Thomas J. Pientok Jr.

Thomas “Tom” J. Pientok Jr., 88, of Independence, died Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Pigeon Falls Health Care Center.
Tom was born June 9, 1937, in the Township of Burnside, to Thomas and Katherine (Mueller) Pientok. On June 23, 1962, he married Cleo Venus at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waumandee. Tom was a man of many talents and worked various jobs, including construction and farming, before retiring from Tri-City Sanitation after 30 years. He enjoyed tinkering around the house and in his meticulous tool shed, and also enjoyed playing cards and working on his garden tractors. Most of all, he loved having his family around and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his children: Renee (Joe Semingson) Maier, Bill (Debbie) Pientok, and Nancy (Dean) Suchla; grandchildren: Nicole (Jesse) Benson, Maranda (Gabe Garcia) Pientok, Mitchell (Andi) Pientok, and Curtis Suchla; great-grandchildren: Sophie, Maeve, and Claudia; siblings: Ted Pientok, Grace Roskos, Ethel Sobotta, and Lloyd (Jan) Pientok; brother-in-law, Kenny (Penny) Venus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cleo; brothers: Bernard (Adeline) and Leonard (Lucille); sister-in-law, Margaret Pientok; brothers-in-law: Marcel Sobotta and John Roskos; nieces: Kay Pientok and Cindy Pientok; and nephew, Steve Pientok.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Reverend George Thayilkuzhitottu officiating. Family and friends are welcome for visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial with military rites rendered by the Sura-Wiersgalla American Legion Post 186 will follow the Mass in the church cemetery.
